Description
Furious at Zeus' betrayal, the goddess Hera wished vengeance upon Zeus' illegitimate offspring Hercules. In servitude to the Mycenaean King, Hercules was tasked to slay the nine-headed monster Hydra. During the fight, Hera dispatched a large crab to aid the Hydra, but it was killed by Hercules with his club. In honor of its sacrifice, Hera put the crab up in the sky as the constellation Cancer.
